what are Endnote and Footnote in (Microsoft Word 2016)
In this article, you will learn about endnotes and footnotes. I will give you some information about the endnote and footnote. We insert an endnote or footnote like a comment or citation for providing more information about a specific word. In most of the books nowadays we can see the small number at the end of the page or at the end of any paragraph. That small numbers are endnote and footnotes. Not only on the book we can insert endnote or footnote in a single page. Endnote and footnotes are for explaining some words that we cannot explain in the paragraph itself. For example, I will use some difficult vocabularies in my paper then I will insert endnote or footnote for explaining the difficult vocabularies.
We can insert an endnote after every paragraph or after some lines but we cannot insert a footnote at the end of the paragraphs. Footnotes will be at the of the all the paragraphs. These options only exist in Microsoft Word. The options are placed in the references tab of Microsoft Word and in the footnotes group. These options are very useful. Mostly we can see the endnotes and footnotes in the books, where the writer explain a specific word are the end of the paragraph or the page. Endnote and footnote are almost the same because we can insert them from the same way. There is a small difference between them.
what is the difference between endnote and footnote?
The endnote will always be at the end of the notes or the paragraph. It doesn’t matter that the document or paragraph is lengthy always the endnote will be at the last of the paragraphs or document. For example, on one page you have two paragraphs that cover half of the page, then after inserting an endnote, the endnote will take place just below the last paragraph.
When we insert a footnote the footnote will always be at the bottom of the page. For the footnote, it doesn’t matter that the that the text should be lengthy or not it.
If you want the readers to understand something better then I recommend you to use a footnote. Whenever you want to explain something at the last of the document then I recommend you to insert an endnote.
Insert an Endnote
After that, you know the differences between endnote and a footnote you have to know the usages of the endnotes and footnotes. As I told you all at the first that we use endnote like a comment for giving extra information about any selected word from the paragraph. After you find the option select any of the words that you want to explain in the endnote. When you select the text or a word then click on the Insert Endnote option to insert an endnote.
