If you insert a picture in a document, then you see the same warp text options after inserting any shape or SmartArt. Now let’s move on how to use warp text in Microsoft Word 2016.
Use warp text in Microsoft word 2016 (Basic and Most used)
Whenever you insert a shape, picture or a SmartArt then you may see a format tab at the last of the tabs ribbon. After you open the tab you may see the Arrange group at the end of the groups in the format tab. In that group, you can see the warp text option. After you click on the option you may see many other options like square, tight, top and bottom, behind the text, in front of the text and some more.
First, add some paragraphs. If you type your own word that doesn’t matter but if you don’t have much time, then you can use this formula to insert text. Insert text formula (=rand (type any number in the bracket). After you insert the text add one picture to the document. Click on the picture and find the warp text from the format tab of picture tools. The first option from the warp text option is (In line with text).
In line with text: Whenever you choose this option then the text will just appear on the top and bottom of the picture or other objects. You may see some words at the corner of the object sometimes but not all the times. You may use this option when your picture size is large vertically.
Square: Whenever the warp points are shaped square that options are the square warp text option. This is one of the most common and useful options. People mostly use it for creating a biography, newspapers and more…
Top and bottom: As you can guess from the name of it that whenever you select this option the text will just appear on the top and bottom of the object. The text cover the top and the bottom of the picture.

Through: You have to use it with the shapes and the SmartArt because the shapes and SmartArt warp point is not a rectangle. The warp point of the SmartArt and shapes like star, banners, lines, are not a rectangle. The warp points of the shapes and SmartArt are here and there and not tidy like warp points of the picture. You can also edit the warp points of the shapes, pictures, and Smart Art’s. You can also edit the warp points of the shape.
In front of the text: after selecting this option your picture will appear over the text of the document. I could not figure it out that why anyone should use this option. If you know something you may provide us in the comment section.
Behind the text: when you click on this option your picture or shape will move to back of the text. The text will readable and the picture also will be visible. If the picture and the text color are the same then you might face some problem in reading the text. I recommend you all to use different colors for the text and the picture, shape or SmartArt.
Move with the text: this is one important and confusing option. Whenever you choose the option then after deleting or adding the shape will move with the same texts. The shape will move with the first text that the shape was inserted on it. You may try it yourself with less text.
Fix in the position: insert the shape or the picture and then select the fix in the position option. Manage the place of the picture or shape and then click on the option. Whenever you delete or add text to the document you can see that the shape is not moving.
Managing the picture position
I thought that this portion might be helpful for you all that’s why I write this one too. Well at the first that you insert a picture in a document of Microsoft word 2016. You cannot drag and drop it anywhere you want. First place of picture will not change until you didn’t select any position from the Position option. It happens to very less amount of the Microsoft word users.
Al thought selecting then dragging is better than the position options.
